Clodronate Improves Survival in Metastatic Prostate Cancer

Men with advanced prostate cancer lived significantly longer when treated with sodium clodronate, but the adjuvant therapy had no effect on survival in men with nonmetastatic disease, British investigators reported.

INDIANAPOLIS, July 25 -- When metastatic testicular cancer progresses despite initial chemotherapy, including a cisplatin-based combination, a high-dose salvage regimen with stem-cell rescue can lead to relapse-free complete responses.
